Back when electronic music was a new thing, one of the things people complained about was that they thought it didn't have any soul. "Aren't we removing all the human elements, all the emotion, all the sensuality from music by taking away the instruments?" they asked.
Just in case anyone out there is still worried about that, may we present the music of Chet Faker. He is a person who brings enough soul, emotion and sensuality to get even the most skeptical listeners interested in electronic sounds

Gaslamp or "GLK," is a leading figure in the Los Angeles music community. At his ground-breaking Low End Theory all-ages hip-hop and electronic club, the Gaslamp Killer had a large hand in bringing in a new sound to music. His community-building is very much a big part of the successes of The Glitch Mob, Daedelus, Nosaj Thing and Flying Lotus. What challenges did he face? Who shared the responsibilities among his team? What were someof the greatest failures or triumphs? DigBoston's Marty Caballero goes one on one with Gaslamp Killer. He headlines the Mid East Club later that night, Thursday May 15th.
There's something so sumptuous about classic electronic genres. Bubbling and buzzing analog synths just reek of class while they ripple up your skin. That's the kind of sounds Daniel Avery is influenced by: the kinds of sounds that you want to bathe in. If you haven't checked out 2013's Drone Logic yet, it's way past due.

Max Pela is "a DJ’s Dj," he shows up with a smile, selects the first track, then sculpts every facet of the sonic environment to his precise vision until the last sine wave emanates from the speakers hours later. His music is Deep Afro, Soulful, Techy and intense; graying boundaries between genres. Constantly seeking variety, in uncommon sounds in each genre, the mixture of these genres, creativity and the search for that specific sound, and his fondness for non-conventional producers, of newer generations. His mixing is patient and flawless and his personality is respected, his performance revered all over.
