The inaugural BMVFF (2014) will be a showcase for local electronic music producers who are expanding into (or already creating) music videos. Additionally those creating short form documentary's (shorter than 15 min.) on subjects affiliated with local producers or events in the greater Boston area will also be considered to be part of this show case. A deadline for submissions has been set for May 10th @ midnight. As CCTV Cambridge is affiliated with this event a portion of those videos selected will be broadcast on local access television, THUS ONE PREREQUISITE IS IN PLACE, ORIGINAL CONTENT WITH EXPRESSED WRITTEN CONSENT IS REQUIRED.
BMVFF is the Latest project from Boston area nightlife personality Erik B Brown. Erik B as he is commonly known was a cornerstone in Boston nightlife spanning from the late 80's and into the 2010's. Having worked with Lyon's group as well as the Roxy group as a director of promotions.He followed that up dj'ing (as djbstar) in the twilight of the vinyl era (aka
vinylpurist@gmail.com). He has appeared on the cover of Stuff@Night magazine, been named to their hot 100 list as well as having received many of their Boston nightlife awards.His more recent developments have been in the arena of Film and Television with a SAG new media project in post production and a seemingly more perfectly aligned foray into music videos.THE BMVFF IS HIS WAY OF PROVIDING OTHER BOSTON AREA MUSIC VIDEO PRODUCERS A CHANCE TO HAVE THEIR VIDEOS PLAYED ON A GIANT SCREEN CONSIDERABLY LARGER THAN ONE MIGHT SEE ONLINE.
