“The one thing I knew was that I wanted this record to be a trip. All my favourite artists and DJs, they take the audience with them when they play; people lock into their world for a few hours and can’t easily step out again. You’re with them for the ride. When I go out, I want to give myself up to music. That was the idea for the album.” said UK producer Daniel Avery about his newest album Drone Logic. Made entirely with analogue instruments, this album sits in the most comfortable place: wedged between trippy and dancy, the couch and the dance floor, and most importantly, stuck between your ears.

In the last few years, Daniel Avery has gained huge traction as a DJ. Producer Andrew Weatherall named Avery a top DJ of 2012, describing his music as “gimmick-free machine-funk of the highest order.” Now, Avery has released Drone Logic signed to Erol Alkan’s Phantasy Sound, an up-and-coming and cutting edge UK label.
